Boarding at Platinum Veterinary Services

Dog boarding, medical boarding, and drop-off rehab in Pilot Point, with a veterinarian on the property.

Our boarding is small on purpose. Dogs stay in our home-based facility in Pilot Point with Sterling, our facility manager, and Dr. Schiller on the property. Because we are a veterinary practice, dogs who need medications, injections, mobility help, or post-surgical care are welcome here — and if anything is due while your dog is with us, we can take care of it during the stay. We're still building: there's no client restroom yet, which is one reason we run boarding and rehab as drop-off.

Four things to do before your pet arrives

1. Fill out the boarding form. Boarding form — it covers feeding, medications, health history, and the care you'd like while your pet is here. We keep it on file, and we'll confirm the details with you at drop-off. Please complete it at least 48 hours before arrival.

2. Schedule your drop-off and pick-up with Sterling. Text (940) 299-7528 to set your times — early mornings, evenings, and weekends included. Every arrival and departure is scheduled; we meet you outside. Please give us 12 hours' notice for changes.

3. Pack for the stay. Enough of your pet's regular food for the whole stay plus one extra day, in its original bag or a labeled container · all medications and supplements in their original labeled containers, with the dosing schedule · a bed, blanket, or item that smells like home · a favorite toy (please skip the very squeaky ones) · leash and collar with ID tags. We provide bowls, bedding if you'd rather not bring yours, and daily cleaning.

4. Send vaccination records. If you're not already a Platinum patient, email your dog's records to info@platinumvettx.com before arrival. We require, when age-appropriate: rabies, distemper/parvo (DAPP), and Bordetella. We recommend canine influenza and leptospirosis. Current flea, tick, and heartworm prevention is required. If anything is due, check the box on the boarding form and we'll update it on arrival at our regular fee — no separate visit needed.

While your pet is here

Every stay includes daily updates by text — a note and a photo, more if something's worth sharing. If your pet is here for medical or post-surgical boarding, Dr. Schiller checks in daily and you'll hear from us with anything that changes.

If your pet gets sick during the stay

This is the part that makes veterinary boarding different. If your dog becomes ill or injured, Dr. Schiller will assess them here and call you. Your boarding form lets you tell us how much care to provide before we reach you, and names an emergency contact who can decide if you can't be reached. If your dog needs care beyond what we can provide here — or if Dr. Schiller is unavailable — we transfer to the most appropriate emergency hospital for what's happening. We're fortunate to have several amazing options nearby, and we'll make the call based on your dog's needs and let you know immediately. If you have an ER preference, tell us on the boarding form.
